Abu Dhabi Sports Acquires The Rights To MLS
As a fan of football, you likely know all about the United States’ Major League Soccer. The MLS has become one of the most exciting football leagues in the world. Previously, BeIN Sports was responsible for broadcasting the Major League Soccer games within the Middle East. A new agreement strips the MLS rights from BeIN Sports and provides them to the Emirati broadcaster, Abu Dhabi Sports.
The change will go into effect immediately. Those residing in the area should expect to see two regular season MLS games on the Abu Dhabi Sports Channel each and every week. The channel has also secured to the right to the MLS’s biggest events, including the play-offs, Cup Final and even the coveted All-Star game. According to the release, Abu Dhabi Sports has gained the rights to live and free-to-air broadcasts, as well as the rights to stream the content over various digital platforms.
The MLS Business Ventures President, Gary Stevenson, was very enthusiastic about the deal and remained adamant that it showed the popularity of the MLS was growing rapidly throughout the world. He also admitted that the new partnership would allow soccer fans in the Middle East and North Africa to enjoy the best programming that Major League Soccer could offer!
